Sunrise and sunset sessions are some of my favourites, where the magic really happens. The light is soft, warm, and endlessly flattering, creating a calm, dreamy atmosphere that turns family moments into something truly special.
These sessions are perfect for every stage of life – maternity, newborn, family, or simply capturing your connection as you are right now. Whether we’re welcoming the quiet of the morning or chasing the last golden glow of the day, your shoot will be relaxed, natural, and full of feeling.
It’s about slowing down, soaking it all in, and creating images you’ll treasure forever. Real moments, real connection, and beautiful light doing what it does best.
When do sunrise and sunset sessions take place?
Sunrise sessions start shortly after the sun comes up, and sunset sessions begin around an hour before the sun sets. The exact time changes throughout the year, so I’ll always confirm your start time closer to your session date.
What types of shoots are suitable for sunrise and sunset sessions?
All of them! Maternity, newborn, family, or just because. These sessions are about connection and atmosphere, and the light works beautifully for every kind of story.
What if the weather is bad?
British weather keeps us on our toes! If it’s unsafe or the conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll simply reschedule.
Are sunrise sessions suitable for children?
They can be, especially for little early risers! Sunset sessions are often easier for families with young children, but we can choose whatever suits your routine best.
How long is the session?
Most sessions last around 1 hour, longer if needed. The light moves quickly, which keeps things relaxed, natural, and perfect for little ones with short attention spans.
What makes sunrise and sunset sessions special?
The light. It’s soft, warm, and flattering, creating images that feel calm, emotional, and timeless. It adds a touch of magic you simply can’t recreate at any other time of day.
